I'm down to my last full day here in San Juan. I've checked the weather conditions back home, and I'm in for a treat tomorrow.

Right now it's 77 degrees here in San Juan, in OKC it's 19. I'm going to freeze!

Not much of a view outside of my room, but at least I can pick up the Wi-Fi signal coming from the pool. I had two choices, either have a room on the 10th floor with a great view and a roommate, or take this view, and be by myself. I choose the later, considering I've been here twice already.

I may venture out tomorrow, I still haven't decided yet. I've got the keys to the van and I could go shopping, but I'm trying to save money to pay off bills and buy some computer parts. I still want to head out to Hard Rock Cafe before leaving next week.

I went to the commissary at Ft Buchanan today to get some food for the next two weeks. The prices at the local grocery stores here in San Juan are outrageous! What costs $2.50 for ice cream in Oklahoma will cost $7.29 here in San Juan. Happily the same ice cream at the commissary costs $2.69, a fair price.

But because the prices are so good, EVERYBODY who has a connection with the military shops there. I waited a record 54 minutes in line to pay for my groceries! I know it was 54 minutes because I started the stopwatch once I got in line. I'll never complain about a line at Wal-Mart again.
It's Super Bowl Sunday, and I'm sitting here in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I actually don't have the game on, and I really couldn't care about it. Once Denver got hammered by Pittsburgh, I lost interest in the entire thing. Plus I don't feel like sitting through the commercials, where Godaddy.com is trying to push the envelope on what they can get away with.

Sheez, there used to be a time when you could sit down with your family and watch the Super Bowl, and have a good laugh over the commercials. Now it seems like they are trying to out due each other ever since the famous Janet Jackson incident. I figure it I can't watch something with my kids in the room, then why should I be watching it?

I woke up this morning to something I had not heard in quite a while, the sound of thunder and lightning! We had some much needed rain fall last night, and it continues to drizzle outside. This would stop our drought, but it's a great start. It's even nice and humid outside! For once it's a low fire danger.

I'm going back to Puerto Rico! I got the call this week that they need munitions workers to support the C-130 operations down there, and I'm willing to serve my country in this fashion. It also means sitting on the beach with the computer and a pina colada by my side. Such is the sacrifice of military service!

I'll be in San Juan for two weeks. The perdiem I'll make down there will give the 'ol bank account some much needed breathing room.

Here's something we haven't seen in a while, a decent chance for rain! The front that moved through Oklahoma this last Sunday missed Oklahoma City, but tonight we might finally get some good soaking rain. It's so dry around here that the grass crunches when you walk on it. I can also see the path of the wheels on the trash can in the grass from when I took it to the curb two weeks ago.

We almost had our first decent rainfall here in Oklahoma City since June, but the storm has missed us! North of the city is getting rain, and south of the metro is getting a LOT of rain, but not here in the metro.

The nice thing is that the humidity level is up, so everything doesn't feel so tinder box dry. In fact we had our first frost on the windows yesterday in months!

Today was the first day in quite a while we've had some actual humidity! When I left the house this morning I was amazed to actually feel the damp air, and it was great. The fire danger here is incredible, and I've seen the burned acres all over the state. We really need the rain, and soon.
